• Dr. Laura Humphrey, Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) – UxAS – Why Was It Created

Each year the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) hosts the Safe and Secure Systems and Software Symposium (S5 - http://www.mys5.org/) as a formal conference bringing together academia, industry and government organizations to collaborate on a common goal of improving the airworthiness and assurance certification process of future aerospace flight control systems. The DOTS discussions serve as intermediary touch points for the community of interest culminating annually in S5. The discussions gather thought leaders in the creation of safe, secure, and correct software development techniques and provide a forum for discussions on research, development, and technology transition.
