Welcome to the Education Committee! 


We are responsible and accountable for establishing and maintaining a robust program to advance the educational objectives and community outreach activities of the Dayton-Wright Chapter and AFCEA.


If you are interested in supporting these objectives we are looking for motivated volunteers to assist in the following areas:


  •  A volunteer to assist with coordinating with local colleges and universities in awarding scholarships to STEM majors.
Timeframe and level of effort: 4 to 6 hours each month between March and June and sporadic activity throughout the remainder of the year.
  •  A volunteer to coordinate with local colleges and universities in distributing ~$5,000/year in tuition and textbook assistance to STEM majors.
Timeframe and level of effort: 1 to 2 hours each month.
  • One or more volunteers to Engage with with local STEM organizations to encourage community awareness of STEM related educational activites and identifying areas where AFCEA can support them.
Timeframe and level of effort: 1 to 2 hours each month.
  • Team coaches and event leaders for a Middle School Code Camp to be held the summer of 2019.
Timeframe and level of effort: 2 to 4 hours of prep work/training, 8 hours for setup and coaching the day of the event.
