Vice President of Industry Strategy

Dale is the Vice President of Industry Strategy at Siemens Digital Industries Software, where he leads the Industry Teams to develop industry strategies, defining requirements for products and solutions, and market solutions for Siemens. 

After spending 30 years in the Aerospace industry in engineering design, development, and program leadership, Dale joined Siemens as the Vice President of Aerospace and Defense Industry in engineering design, development, and program leadership.

Prior to joining Siemens, Dale was the Vice President of Engineering and Vice President of Program Management at The Spaceship Company, a sister company to Virgin Galactic, where he led the development of vehicles for commercial space tourism. In December 2018, he led the team on a successful flight test to space. 

Dale spent 18 years at Cessna Aircraft / Textron Aviation in program and project management, systems engineering and integration, advanced design, autopilot integration, simulation development and other engineering roles. While at Cessna, he was the Chief Engineer and Program Director of the Scorpion Jet program, where he led a dynamic cross-functional team to design, build and fly the Scorpion Jet prototype from concept sketch to first flight in 23 months – achieving a >50% reduction in cost and schedule compared to similar programs. Before leaving Textron Aviation, he was the Engineering Director for the Textron Aviation Defense programs, leading the engineering teams for the Scorpion jet, T-6 Texan II trainer, and AT-6 light attack aircraft.  

Before joining Cessna, Dale worked as an engineer at Bombardier, Learjet, on the Lear 45 program, and General Dynamics Space System Division on the Atlas I, II and IIAS programs.

Dale has a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Nebraska – Lincoln, and an MBA from Wichita State University with a concentration in Finance.
