TRANSITION ASSISTANCE AND MENTORSHIP

Are you a Veteran seeking a transition to civilian life? 

DWAFCEA promotes other organizations to help veterans transition to civilian life to include careers, resume building, mentorships, apprenticeships, and more. 

The Department of Veteran Affairs Transition Assistance Program (TAP) provides information, resources and tools to service members and their loves ones to help prepare for the move from military to civilian life.  Service members begin TAP one year prior to separation, or two years prior to retiring.

The Military Officers Association of America (MOAA) is the nation’s largest and most influential association of military officers.  It is an independent, nonprofit, politically nonpartisan organization with over 350,000 members from every branch of service.  MOAA’s purpose includes career transition assistance military benefits counseling, educational assistance to children of military families (to include enlisted), and strong involvement in military professionalism activities.

Boots to Business (B2B) is an entrepreneurial education and training program offered by the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) as part of the Department of Defense Transition Assistance Program (TAP). The course provides an overview of entrepreneurship and applicable business ownership fundamentals. Active Duty Service members (including National Guard and Reserve), Veterans of all eras, and spouses are eligible to participate.

The Overwatch Partnership supports the transition to civilian employment for veterans by providing a network of mentors and human resource professionals to enable an improved career transition, while enhancing veteran hiring efforts for organizations in the community and creating a social network of veterans and non-veterans alike.
