    Dr. Candice Hatcher-Solis

    Dr. Hatcher-Solis is a Research Biological Scientist for the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL). She received her B.A. from the College of William and Mary and her Ph.D. from Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine in Physiology and Biophysics.

    She is the Team Lead for Neurobiology of Cognitive Performance research at AFRL. Her current research interests include neuromodulation and biomarker discovery for cognitive enhancement and stress resiliency. Dr. Hatcher-Solis has a dual appointment as Associate Graduate Faculty at Wright State University in the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology as well as the Biological Sciences Department.

    She has won numerous awards including the 2020 Women of Color Technical Innovation in Government Award and 2021 Black Engineer of the Year Award for the Most Promising Scientist in Government. Along with her research, Dr. Hatcher-Solis is passionate about science outreach and is actively involved in several organizations as the Chair for Air Force Women in Science and Engineering, the Vice President for the South Ohio Section of the Society of Women Engineers and is the Treasurer for the Dayton Professionals Chapter of the National Society of Black Engineers.

    Dr. Hatcher-Solis will be speaking with our group in an informal setting about her career, leadership challenges, and advice she has encountered along the way. We look forward to seeing you there!
