John Baker is a Senior Executive Partner in the Federal ExP Region, supporting Gartner from Scottsdale, Arizona. John has over 33 years of experience in the Department of Defense with expertise spanning tactical operations to strategic policy formulation. His career has revolved around the delivery and operation of innovative and high impact cyber security, digital integration and information technology solutions. From 2016 until shortly before he transitioned from the Army, John led and empowered a diverse 15,000-person organization, the Army’s Network Enterprise Technology Command. His global team supported a customer base of 800,000 personnel, 24x7/365, providing multi-domain network services, cyber security, engineering and architecture support. John also served as the Chief Information Officer at United States Central Command, responsible for directing the networks supporting U.S. forces in Southwest Asia. And, he helped establish and lead a Joint Cyber Center that became the model for improved collaboration, accelerated decision making and teamwork for cyber operations involving Central Command.

John and his wife Laurie reside in Arizona. John is a graduate of Norwich University while Laurie graduated from both the University of Arizona and Arizona State. They have two daughters; Alexis and, Mackenzie. John and Laurie enjoy visiting with their daughters, traveling, and walks with their two dogs, Toby and Watson.
