Jon Sutherland is responsible for delivering solutions for the Air Force and Space Force on behalf of AT&T. He identifies, aligns and develops AT&T and partner capabilities to meet Air Force and Space Force global operating needs to improve operational availability, cyber security, resiliency and cost.

Prior to his current position, Mr. Sutherland served over 33 years in the United States Air Force, retiring as aColonel. He held a variety of key leadership positions in the United States and overseas concluding his career as the Chief Information Officer for more than 33,000 Air Force personnel in Europe and Africa. Prior to that, he served in a similar role as the Chief Information Officer for over 5,000 Air Force personnel in the Middle East during the first year of Operation Iraqi Freedom. In previous positions, he served in the office of the Joint Chiefs of Staff twice, in several Major Commands, was a two-time base Communications Squadron Commander and a Group Commander responsible for operating, securing and defending global network operations to enable commanding and controlling of more than 160 Department of Defense satellites.

Mr. Sutherland earned a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from the University of Nebraska-Omaha, a master’s degree in Business Administration from Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville, a masters degree in Operational Art and Science from Air University and a masters degree in National Security Strategy from the National War College. He is a lifetime member of the Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association.
