Please join the Greater Ohio Valley Women in Defense (WID) Chapter, Dayton Wright Chapter of the Armed Forces Communications-Electronics Association (AFCEA), and the Wright Brothers Institute (WBI) Small Business Hub for an outstanding opportunity to learn about the Department of Defense’s (DoD) Strategy to accelerate the adoption of Artificial Intelligence (AI).  AI is poised to change the character of the future battlefield and the pace of threats we must face.  The Joint Artificial Intelligence Center (JAIC) is the focal point for carrying out the Department’s transformation.  We are privileged to welcome two outstanding leaders for this discussion:

Ms Essye B. Miller is a career member of the Senior Executive Service, and currently serves as the Principal Deputy, Department of Defense Chief Information Officer (DoD CIO). In this capacity, Ms. Miller assists the DoD CIO as the primary advisor to the Secretary of Defense for Information Management / Information Technology (IT) and Information Assurance, as well as non-intelligence space systems; critical satellite communications, navigation, and timing programs; spectrum; and telecommunications.

Lt Gen John N.T. “Jack” Shanahan is the Director, Joint Artificial Intelligence Center, within the Office of the Department of Defense Chief Information Officer. In this capacity, he is responsible for achieving the JAIC’s mission to accelerate the delivery of AI-enabled capabilities; scale the department-wide impact of AI; establish a common foundation enabling decentralized AI execution and experimentation; evolve partnerships with industry, academia, allies and partners; cultivate a leading AI workforce; and lead in military AI ethics and safety.
