Colonel Michael E. Phillips serves as the Deputy Director for Air, Space and Cyberspace Operations & Chief Information Officer, Headquarters Air Force Materiel Command, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio. He is responsible for shaping the cyber workforce and cyber infrastructure for operations to test, field and sustain agile war-winning capabilities.
Prior to assuming his current position, Colonel Phillips served as the Vice Commander, 88th Air Base Wing, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio. In this role, he led the largest air base wing in the Air Force with more than 5,000 officers and enlisted Airmen, Air Force civilians and contractor employees. Serving also as the Deputy Installation Commander, he led his team in providing support and services to the largest, most diverse, and most organizationally complex base in the Air Force with over 32,000 personnel, including a major command headquarters, a major acquisition center, research and development laboratories, the Air Force's center for higher education, a Reserve airlift wing, and the world's largest military air museum.
