Wayne Staats, Ph.D

5G Research Scientist, B.E.A.T.

Dr. Staats spent the early part of his career working for IBM in the Networking Division where he specialized in the design and development of common communication protocols. He then transitioned to academia where he received funding to researched real-time detection of spacial disorientation in pilots leveraging Artificial Intelligence. This research paved his way into the DoD Intelligence Community (IC) as a security professional. Supporting DoD and IC programs, Dr. Staats developed re-programmable Type-1 Cypto systems, engineered signals intelligence collection systems and worked anti-tamper devices. His current position involves tool chain development for the automatic identification and verification of zero-day vulnerabilities in mobile devices including portable electronic devices and Internet-of-Thing devices.
